Art Appreciation

Ever since I can remember I have loved all things artistic. From my finger painting days to my design sketches today there is not a day that goes by where I don’t stop and get inspired by a colour array, a striking line construction or a beautiful piece tailoring.

This week is one to note in history for me as I had the pleasure of purchasing my first investment piece of Artwork, an Oil on Canvas piece by artist Andrew Bartosz. Andrew’s artworks had been hanging in Scream Gallery, London prior to their sale.

The following has been said with relation to Andrew's art:

“Andrew’s gift for portraying the woman’s body is inspiring. With master strokes Andrew captures both the beauty and complexity of a woman’s nature."

"Andrew strikes us first with the evocative, soft, dreamy and colourful expression of a woman’s body. But then he skilfully contrasts it, through structured elements and toned down colours of the background, with sharper, less perfect and darker images or moods.”

The result of Andrew efforts is a sensual fusion between the abstract and the real.

Cruising Croatia

Escaping the rain and wind that London calls "summer" I was lucky enough to spend a weekend with great friends in Croatia.

Landing in Split I was taxied to the jetty where a sea taxi chartered the waters to arrive at the beautiful island of Hvar.

Without delay my friends and I dinned at the delightful Gariful Restaurant. We sampled some of the local Rose and devoured a simply mouthwatering seafood platter.

Checking in to the gorgeous Amfora Hotel, Hvar, we wasted no time in hitting the pool and indulging in a couple of Banana Daiquiris (I highly recommend to anyone staying in Hvar).

With a carefree feel to the day we casually strolled to Hula Hula bar where we saw the tail end of the most beautiful sunset and laughed our night away.

Morning rose and we set out on the water adventure of a lifetime! Making friends with 3 Americans over daiquiris the evening before our group had become a total of 8.  Boarding the boat we set off to see the green caves, blue caves, stop for a coffee on the island of Vis and during our travels we saw one of the best toys around...a giant slide off the side of a cruiser - epic!

Croatia was a glimpse of heaven and I would highly recommend anyone who has not been to give it a visit. I will be heading back next year in July and I am already counting down the days - bliss!
