Backstage banter part 2...

Fashion Days Nuremberg was in full swing, with the opening evening welcoming guests from magazines Cosmopolitan, Joy and Shape. Along with VIPs and fashionistas.

The house was full for all three nights of Fashion Days Nuremberg AW12/13.  The papers were buzzing day after day with the latest from the runway.

My favourite outfits from the show were presented by Adam & Eve and came from designers Religion and Vlieger & Vandam.

Nuremberg has become a home away from home for me over the past year since I started to work with the Fashion Days team.  Looking forward to the next season...

Back in the Studio

Ever since I was a little girl singing along to my mix tape of Madonna I have loved music.  I grew up with a dream of becoming a lyricist.  This dream is still alive and something I have never stopped working on.

I will never forget sitting in a classroom of my high school in Australia with a few friends at the age of 12 and writing my first chorus. From there we developed the song and I still get the melody stuck in my head today.

Over the years I have developed my music skills taking lessons in singing, piano and guitar.  My passion for music has never been to get on stage; I much prefer the idea of writing the words.  Unfortunately in true Coyote Ugly style if you want your music heard, you have to sing it yourself.

I have recently gone back to singing lessons after a few years off and have hit the ground running.  With the great help of my teacher Hazel Sim at Voxbox Studios in London I am getting my ear back to top notch and extending my range.

And the chapter continues…

Captivating Chaos

There are not many photographers that can take the simplest form and create a captivation story.

TylerShields is a favourite of mine, although his work has sparked much controversy I can’t help but be captivated by the images he produces.

The raw nature of his work gives the viewer a greater depth of story, he does not use Photoshop and every line you see is real.

Tyler Shield’s unconventional methods have carved his way to success.  Allowing the subject to react to the environment created, he truly captures a thousand words.

In a recent interview in Elle magazine, Tyler Shields captured the essence of his success in a single sentence…

…“If you are a person who can find the value before there is worth, then you will always be ahead of the curve and you will always be successful.”…

These words are as motivating to me today as they were the day I first read them.

You can view Tyler’s works on his website www.tylershields.com or if you are in the UK you can catch his works at A Gallery.

Soho Soirée

After countless castings and running from one end of London to another what better way to relax than a girls night out in London Town.

Stepping down from the skyscraper heels we wear at our castings, I slipped in to my favorite run around flat - a pair of Black Ted Baker Jelly Ballerina pumps. Teamed with a pair of Zara leopard print trousers and a Wayne Cooper Blazer I was set for anywhere the night would lead.

Stopping in at Tilley & Carmichael, located on Silver Place in Soho, where a couple of the girls were sitting down to the star treatment of hairdressers Graham and Heather. With a wine in hand, hair styled and laughter amount us we were set for the evening.

We made our way to PIX on Bateman Street where we indulged in spanish tapas and white wine.

As always on a girls night out there is a need for cocktails...and there is no place I like better in London than a wonderful little cocktail bar on Dean Street Soho - Zenna Bar.

As we made out way down the stair to the decadent setting our group were sat in a private alcove and a round of the mode delicious shots were provided. We sipped on Spicy Lychee Martinis, Ginger Mojitos and the delightful House Nectar as the hours slipped away.

As the clock struck 12 this Cinderella's were due to be home, after-all it is London Fashion Week...a fantastic evening with amazing friends.

Casual Casting

London Fashion Week is merely days away and of course castings are still taking place.

I use the term casual casting very loosely as the life of a model is nothing but go go go. Running around town from venue to venue vying for the chance to strut their stuff down the runway.

Decked out in my favourite Tony Bianco wedge booties, old faithful skinny jeans, a H&M black vest, and tying it all together with a sleek DKNY blazer - I'm ready for the day.

Toting my Eclipse Model Management portfolio in one hand and my Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 in the other I scoot around London to meet with designers and casting directors in the hope score a place in the runway lineup.

Beach, Bubbles and Sunset Serenity...

When the suncomes out life just seems that little bit better…

For a week I was blessed to be living it up in an amazing villa surrounded by amazingfriends.  Our week started out with sun-bakingand silliness and ended with sangria and siestas.

Casa Vela, ahidden treasure on the west coast of Ibiza near Sant Josep.  Where better to call home for a week than afully equipped villa with a gorgeous outside kitchen, glistening pool andcountless sun lounges for the guests.  CasaVela became a home away from home as we explored Ibiza.  With the fridge stocked and the alcohol benchoverflowing, we had everything we desired at our fingertips.

Day one lead a few of us to venture out of the confines of your blissful villa where we found Sunset Ashram located on Cala Comte, Ibiza.  A venue we so vividly loved we had a family dinner with most of the crew a few days later to take in the sunset over Ibiza.  It's a hard life...

Big thanks to Feldon at Boutique Ibiza for arranging a 12 seat Sunseeker for the day.  Our crew cruise the open waters and escaped to paradise.  Words cannot capture the beauty that was seen as we sliced through the crystal clear waters around Ibiza, stopping to explore the caves and snorkel with the local marine life.  We were truly living the dream.  What else is there to do when you have spent the morning cruising than to stop at a neighboring island for lunch…

Paradise - sailing around Ibiza
As we pulled up to Formentera, it was a short stroll to Tiburon Beach Club where we sipped sangria and had some of the best sashimi I have ever eaten.  A sample of the local grappa and we were taxied back to our boat for an afternoon of lounging on the bow and dipping in the sea.  One would wonder how you can top a day of sailing through the open waters with great friends but we managed to finish on a high by ferrying in to beach club Blue Marlin for a few cocktails to sign off the day.

Blue Marlin, located in the beautiful Cala Jondal Bay (Southwest Ibiza), is the epiphany of lifestyles of the rich and famous, where glamour and fashion meet flare and taste.  Set on a picturesque pebble beach overlooking a blanket of blue water, Blue Marlin offers a fullyequipped kitchen, restaurant, outside chill area and inside party area, alltopped with the highest quality service.

As the next day rises and we reflect on the amazing day at sea we begin to plan for the night of nights at “F*** Me I’m Famous” at Pacha with a set by David Guetta. Rolling in VIP Style our group is ushered to a table and given the menu.  Selecting a bottle of Bombay Gin and two bottles of Vodka our night had begun…The music was pumping, the lights were flashing, smoke machines were on fire…how could it get any better…dancers…adorned in skimpy sequined outfits we had women in heart shaped swings and topless men dancing around poles.  The party was heating up and the bottles were slowly becoming empty.  When the dancing became too much and the legs needed a rest there was a gorgeous rooftop terrace with large cane armchairs to relax in, Pacha had thought of everything. As the night continued and David Guetta took to the decks the club was layered with light sticks that gave an epic presence and feel to the evening.  In the wee hours of the morning, and before the house lights came on, I slipped away with a few friends and headed back to the sanctity of Casa Vela. The music still pumping in my head we sat down to an amazing home cooked breakfast before hitting the pillow…

In our ventures around Ibiza a few of us had stumbled across an amazing traditional Spanish tapas restaurant in Sant Josep - Raco Verd.  Lined with gorgeous flowers, the venue offered the best Sangria we had during the trip.  The final day in Ibiza was by far the best for me, we hit the local beach by Casa Vela, where we sipped Moet and hadn’t a care in the world, we made our way to Sant Josep and Raco Verd where we ordered2 liters of sangria between 3 of us…the need for food was clear…a selection of tapas made their way to our table and come the end of our indulgence it was clearly siesta time…

A few hours later we met the rest of our crew in Ibiza town before heading to the airport and boarded British Airways flight BA2729 back to London…adiós Ibiza, the memories will last a lifetime…
